What can YOU do about a global pandemic?

Oftentimes, we struggle to find meaning in life. Even the healthiest, most successful individuals feel like they’re letting others down or don’t attain complete satisfaction in everyday life. At difficult times like these, what can we do to actually contribute?

Stay at home: This is the easiest time to save the world. You don’t need capes, superpowers or bat caves. Just stay indoors. People need to understand the importance of physical distancing and what impact it could have on the spread of a pandemic such as this. If you're anything like me, you’re not going to complain about the endless PJ situation either.

Use the internet wisely: The last global pandemic happened at a time when there were no flights or the internet. We have both now. Although we’re seeing an unprecedented number of people getting affected because of air travel, we also have connected virtually the entire world with the internet. Use the internet to share accurate information and also some witty internet humour so you can help by bringing awareness in people. Who knew you could save the world with memes, eh?

Practice gratitude: Do you have a home to get quarantined in? Do you have all the supplies to be fed? Do you have a phone to call your friends and family? Count your blessings. Be grateful for your life and the people in it.

Work on yourself: Take this chance to be a better person, for yourself and the world. The world is literally on hold so you can work on yourself. You don’t get this opportunity more than once in a lifetime. Practice meditation, learn an instrument, pick up a book, anything.

The world needs more humanity, more kindness and more compassion. Especially during times like these. Donate to your local relief fund, post a video of you dancing on the internet, video call everyone you know, feed a stray cat/dog.

We’re living in an advanced world and it’s sad to see that we are losing lives to diseases that we can prevent and control. Be responsible and that’s about the most you can do for the world right now.

Good vibes from me to everyone that’s reading this!
